Request and steps for participation

The companies that wish to fulfil their legal obligations by means of the SIG managed by ECOEMBES shall do so by signing a Membership Contract which shall give them the right to use the Green Dot symbol, to which effect they must carry out the following steps:

1. Fill out Membership Request.  

2. In a few days, the Company will receive its Membership Contract in two counterparts along with the invoice for the Participation Contribution.

3. Once the company has received, read and analysed the Membership Contract, it must sign the two counterparts of the Membership Contract and fill in the information regarding the person signing the contract, Annexes IV and V in respect of the bank details, and the statements with regard to the voluntary declaration of commercial and industrial packaging and statements with regard to the review of the Annual Accounts and Management Report by an Accounts Auditor.

4. Pay the Membership Contribution (600 Euros plus  8% VAT, for those companies which invoice more than 6 billion Euros per year, and 300 Euros plus 8% VAT for the rest), in the account of Ecoembalajes España S.A. at Banco Santander Central Hispano:

5. As of the date of reception of the documentation indicated in point 2, you will have one month to send us the signed and completed contracts, along with the receipt for the deposit of the Membership Contribution, to our offices, located on C/ Orense, 4 – 8th Planta. 28020 MADRID.

6. We shall verify that your contracts are correct and entirely filled out, after which they shall be signed by ECOEMBES. Subsequently, you will be sent a copy signed by both parties, as well as the documentation and supporting materials necessary to complete the Packaging Declaration

7. Companies must present a declaration for each of the four periods prior to their becoming members. Once the documentation mentioned in point 6 has been received, you will have a month to complete and present the Packaging Declarations, with the help of the software application developed by ECOEMBES for this purpose.

8. Once the Packaging Declaration has been presented, from the total resulting from the declaration, ECOEMBES will issue four quarterly invoices, as set out in the Membership Contract, thus terminating the membership acquisition process.

After the company has acquired membership status, it shall submit a Declaration for the packaging which it has placed on the market over the course of the preceding fiscal year.
