Technical Specifications for Recovered Materials

Controlling the traceability chain

Is essential to us. The traceability control is a systematic process developed by external control companies duly audited under ISO 9001 and 140001 standards.

It is developed according to Ecoembes’ procedures, both within approval processes and through specific controls.

Responsibility of the recovery or recycling company

If you have entered into a contract with Ecoembes to become a recipient of material, you are obliged to certify the subsequent deliveries to the agents participating in the traceability chain to the final destination of the material recycling. Below we inform you of the information you must provide and how to do it.

Traceability report

Following the controls and the request for the information required, the company in charge of controlling the traceability sends a report both to Ecoembes and the recovery or recycling company. This report states the conclusions obtained after studying the documentation.

Obligations during the control process

It is important that recovery and recycling companies who become the successful bidders bear in mind the following:

  1. If during the process there are incidents that imply lack of justification of traceability, from Ecoembes we may withdraw the approval for the material from the recovery or recycling companies and, if applicable, terminate the sale agreements entered into with the recovery or recycling company for the material.

  2. If a company does not evidence traceability, at Ecoembes we will not accept an approval request from them again for the materials whose traceability has not been duly justified. The approval for a specific material may also be withdrawn when the traceability is certified through false documentation. In the latter case, notwithstanding other liabilities that may be demanded.

  3. If a company does not allow to carry out a traceability control, we will withdraw the approval for such material and the contracts in force with said company will be terminated. In addition, said company will not be allowed to get approved again for the material or materials for which the traceability control was not allowed.

When does the traceability chain end?

The end of the traceability chain depends on the material. Here we detail the destinations for each type of material.

When entering the foundry.

When entering the paper factory.

When entering the recycling facility that produces clean chippings and justifying the sale of the product in this completion stage or a higher stage.

When entering the recycling facility that produces pellet and justifying the sale of the product in this completion stage or a higher stage.

When entering the recycling facility that produces pellet and justifying the sale of the product in this completion stage or a higher stage.

Entrance to the recycling facility where the consumption good is produced, not subject to subsequent industrial transformation processes and justification of sale of product in this termination stage.
