Approval for recycling companies

Are you a recovery or recycling company? Get approved

Thanks to the approval, we verify that the companies to which we award the recovered materials, whose sale is managed by us, meet certain technical, environmental and administrative criteria, which we consider to be essential.

In addition, the approval process ensures the companies interested in receiving the materials offers all guarantees for their correct treatment.

The approval is a certification process, which is outsourced and audited under ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.

Currently, the certification service is provided by an independent consultancy. ECOEMBES will soon expand the number of independent consultancies - with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 - that can provide the recycler certification service for ECOEMBES through a public procurement process.

Type of materials

The materials recovered to which the approved recovery and recycling companies may gain access are governed by a set of quality conditions and standards, compiled in the Technical Specifications for recovered materials (TSRM)


These materials are divided into two large groups:

Plastic materials

  1. PET

  2. PEAD

  3. FILM

  4. Mixed plastic

Other materials

  1. Steel

  2. Aluminium

  3. Paper and cardboard

  4. Drinks cardboard

Removing an approval

Recovery and recycling companies that do not meet the conditions set may lose their approval.

  1. Termination of the contracts signed.

  2. May imply impossibility to being approved again within two years.
